Welcome to my cave !

Hi, my name is Ahmet Talha Geçgelen. I am the guy who writes all the posts here. Howdy? (˵ ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°˵)

Currently, it’s my 3rd year in Computer Engineering, and I’m interested in low-level things. My biggest hobby is inspecting and experimenting with modern processing units, especially GPUs and CPUs. I go deep, and even deeper when I get comfortable—always asking, “Well, I understand what happens here, but how?” and searching for answers. When I was in high school, I decided to make a small game for myself because I was interested. I started with a game engine, then I always asked the question I mentioned. I ended up writing my own game engine, although I never made a game to production. I became interested in Linux and was amazed at how flexible it was. I started learning and eventually found myself researching how to write my own operating system. Again, the farthest I could go was bootloading an OS image, taking input from the keyboard, and printing it with a VGA adapter. But I learned a lot on the way.

So you see, I am not much of a man of action, but rather a scientist. I love researching, and eventually transferring what I’ve learned to other people. But sadly, there aren’t many people around me who are interested in what I do, so I can’t share my ideas, talk about them, or know what’s right or wrong. This is why I am writing this blog. I want to publish what I’ve learned, and maybe get some feedback. Along the way, perhaps I can teach some interesting subjects and draw attention to computer science.
